006: Searching for My Jam

I recently staretd making UI designs when I found out that they were pretty easy to make and since then I been just going down the rabbit hole.

Figma was, of course, my tool of choice. I downloaded the iPhone 15 Pro design templates and dove into Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. This gave me a solid foundation for understanding the unique screen dimensions, along with the new features that the 15 Pro offers, like the always-on display. I wanted my app’s UI to be as smooth and calming as the experience of meditation itself, with soft colors and intuitive navigation that felt at home on the iPhone.

The whole process was a great learning experience. From balancing aesthetics with usability to harnessing the iPhone 15 Pro’s high-resolution display for a truly immersive experience, creating this app was both challenging and fulfilling. Designing for a device like this has pushed my creativity and given me a deeper appreciation for thoughtful, user-centric UI design.

Attaching only 3 of the total screens I made :]

005: To Those Who Provided The Younger Ones Shade

Navigating Life as the Eldest Sibling: A Personal Reflection Sometimes, it feels like I’m just another teenager overwhelmed with frustration. I’ve spent years accumulating emotions that seem impossible to release. Although I long to let them go, finding an easy way to do that often feels elusive. But that’s not the reason for this blog post. Understanding the Elder Sibling Experience Being the oldest sibling comes with a unique set of challenges and responsibilities. As the eldest, I find myself in a role that’s both rewarding and taxing. It’s not just about setting an example; it’s about navigating the expectations and pressures that come with this position. We often end up understanding each other’s struggles in a way that only fellow eldest siblings can. We share the same jokes, the same frustrations, and, most importantly, the same sense of unspoken responsibility. The Role of the Role Model I recall a memorable piece of advice from a teacher: “You’re the eldest; you have to be the...

001: I recommend these two books to people who find reading 'boring'

When I am asked what I like to do in my free time, I simply reply 'I read'. And I kid you not, in return, 90% of the time I get the most disapproving looks which people give to a person who's giving an exam wearing maroon socks with giraffes on it or someone who likes the combination of pickles and jam (been there done that). But the point is, just because BookTok provides the 'best book recommendations ever' there are oh so many hidden gems that people tend to undermine because 'its not popular' or 'I only read from this particular author'. I believe, that as a member of the society we should take a little step backwards and give a chance to that dusty book in the corner of one's shelf not just because the 'cover isn't pretty'. Trust me you will have the time of your life while finishing that book chapter by chapter. And that's what Toshikazu Kawaguchi does with his 'Before The Coffee Gets Cold', it's a normal little ...
